Stat Requests

At 4path, our goal is to ensure rapid turn-around-times for all of our surgical and cytology specimens.

Over 90% of our surgical pathology cases are routinely completed within one working day of receipt, and 98% are typically completed within two working days.

We understand that there are times when immediate treatment decisions are required and the need for pathologic evaluation of a biopsy is extremenly urgent. In those cases, please contact us directly and we will do what is necessary to expedite the surgical pathologic evaluation to the shortest possible time, including "first morning" evaluations, Saturday evaluations and in selected circumstances, "same-day" evaluation (subject to specimen type, size and time specimen is received in the laboratory).

For clients within reasonable proximity to our office, we offer Frozen Section analysis on unfixed tissues, during normal working hours. Please contact us to arrange the examination and to coordinate transport of the specimen to our laboratory. Usual turn-around-time, upon receipt in the laboratory, is typically 20 minutes or less, for routine specimens.

WebSlide Consultations

Welcome to the new world of Internet based slide consultation. This means that you are now able to review selected slides on the internet -- in your office, with the pathologist while discussing the case on the phone.

Please note: NO patient identifying information is placed on the Internet. Internet transmission is limited to the image of the pathology slide. All discussion and identification is provided via secure phone based discussion.

To have a WebSlide Consultation please contact the pathologist, by phone, to determine a time for review (it typically takes an hour or two to get things ready for review, during normal working hours.)
